Xillent ripper - put the DVD in, open SR, and its easy to use from there - you can easily select what chapters and such you want to rip - much better alternative to cladvdxp. It may be disabled when installing or after installation. Free Trial version available for download and testing with usually a time limit or limited functions.
No installation is required. However, its advanced features go way beyond this, enabling you to refine almost every aspect of the ripping process. A good example is the way it grabs the audio tracks. It enables you to save the audio in a separate file away from the rest of the contents of the DVD. You can only save in WAV format but you could easily convert this to Mp3 with a simple converter. This means it can still be re-burned onto a DVD and is really useful if you want to extract the audio, edit it and then replace it back on a disc.
SmartRipper can be as simple or as complicated as you want it to be. The program is loaded with nice features like per-chapter splitting of VOB files, angle processing, etc. There's a lot to learn here, but worth the time investment.. SO this is a freeware that is not the easiest, but once you learn the ins and outs of how to use it, the possibilities are endless.

It is fairly user friendly for those te chnical oriented people. The process goes fairly fast and you can keep an eye on its progress with easy to read displays showing its progressing in "ripping" a DVD.
