So, how to start a new game without wiping your old save games per instructions from the OPs link : Enter your old game and trigger a save eg complete a mission Turn autosave off Start your new game After completing a mission in the new game, save it to either another profile or save slot Turn autosave back on You should now have 2 save game slots, one with your old game and one with your new game.

Thanks for the comment, but the reason I asked here is because I don't fully understand the final answer in the thread I linked. Do you know what is meant by 'another profile'? I get about 10 save slots in the game, would I somehow get 20 with another save, or would I have the second game save in my original slots? And which game would GTA 4 load up?

Jesus Christ! Honestly that would be even worse for me. I'm pretty much done with GTAV. I'll get on maybe one last time this weekend and give it a go, but I've moved on. And restarting is pointless if you can just replay this missions you want and not have to do pointless, boring stuff like towing cars for nasty ass Tonya and bike-riding with Jimmy.
Fun while it lasted, though. Take a second, forget your troubles, and wire up one or 40 of U2's magnificent songs. If you still haven't found what you're looking for that's too bad. One nice thing about restarting the game after you've already completed it once it that you catch a lot more things that you never noticed before and you catch a lot of the foreshadowing early on in the game.
