Beyerdynamic dt 880 pro i edition 2005

It is absolutely something else. I really enjoyed the sound signature of Sennheiser products thus far. Warm, detailed, balanced, and never harsh, not even on the most questionable mastering. Many years ago I've tried a low impedance DT on a mobile player Fiio or something. I liked the tonality, being totally different from what I was used to, but absolutely hated how harsh they became on particular songs.

The detail was also not up there with HDs, imo. Recently I randomly came across DT reviews, basically suggesting they are truly best in class reference headphones, even compared to the HD, although without the harsh 8kHz peak of other Beyerdynamic products. So gee whiz, naturally I was tempted to give it a shot. Lo and Behold - it slaps.

The Ohm DT absolutely outclasses my HD in fidelity, frequency range, detail, sound stage, everything. It may very well be the magical combination with the Fostex HP-A3, which delightfully drives them at comfortable listening levels between 10 and 1 o'clock.

No distortion was audible to me. Not even at 4 o'clock, which is way to loud for longer periods of listening, on my ears anyway. They definitely sound worse on my Galaxy S9, without question. I am very pleased with the new world of sound these headphone let me have a second go at.

The HD are still fulfilling their duty, for clam and relaxed listening sessions before sleep, as my bedside headphones. I bought them to get more details in mixing sessions, to compare with monitors.. Also recommended for those who love a clear and balanced listening. Very comfortable even after many working hours.

Very defined bass for a semi-open. As for Ohm, someone might need a headphones amp if the headphones preamp of the audio interface or whatever is not sufficiently powerful.

With some entry level audio interface models steinberg ur, focusrite scarlett series etc. Awesome headphones for critical listening. This combination creates a wonderful sound.

They are a recognised tool amongst sound enthusiasts and a loyal companion for producers. As stereo headphones they help professionals pick up on errors immediately making them ideal for mixing and mastering. The semi-open-back design means that these headphones offer unparalleled spaciousness.

They reproduce audio tracks neutrally without changing the tone of the sound. This allows optimum vocal positioning in mixing and ensures every slightest nuance is transparently reproduced. The robust spring steel headband design ensures that the over-ear headphones offer a secure fit. The single-sided cable allows the headphones to be put on and taken off frequently without cables getting tangled, and soft, adjustable ear cups provide for added comfort.

The DT Edition headphones for use at home and the DT PRO studio headphones: soundwise, both models are identical as they feature identically designed acoustic transducers. There are fundamentally two differences between the models. Firstly, the Edition models have a somewhat softer headband for enjoying music at home whereas the PRO headset has a slightly firmer fit. Secondly, the Edition models come equipped with a straight cable whereas the PRO models come with a coiled cable.

For decades our PRO headphones have been the reference for professional sound in recording studios all over the world.

I find it a very pleasant headphone. They are very comfortable with stock Beyer pads. Long listening sessions are no problem with these cans.

I recently replaced the pads on mine with silver Beyer replacements. When buying replacements, make sure the model number is listed on the replacement pad package. Bloated, unfocused bass assaulted my ears. I can think of 2 negatives - one is that the cable is hard wired. Would love to upgrade the cable, but alas I have no technical skill, and a plug and play option is obviously not an option. The second negative is the headband. Black sticky stuff would come off on my fingers and the band started to degrade.

Anyway, I purchased a headband cover off of Amazon the other day, and that solved the icky sticky issue finally got off my ass and did something after 12 years of ownership. Just got these in for modding experiments. Any way to tell visually what version these are? They do sound pretty well controlled despite the high degree of treble.

Less fatiguing than I'd expect given the graph. Will report back with all my findings. They are a version from the future. I had a pair of the DT Pro all of which were ohms that I bought new in late While I thought the build quality was good and the comfort very good clamping force is generally a non-issue for me, in fact lack thereof is more of one the sound quality was meh.

Didn't love them they way the fans did, nor hate them like the haters did. Kind of uninspiring I guess. The amount of treble wasn't really the problem for me, but rather the timbre. They were sold within a week after I received the hds. They remain the only beyers I have ever owned. I have not heard another that didn't sound worse to me than the s, fwiw, not that I have heard many og t1, t70 or 90?

They ruined other headphones for me by setting an unreasonably high bar for comfort. Donald North , Aug 11, The Ohm headphones were developed primarily for use at home on a stereo system.

The Ohm version gets the best out of hi-fi systems with especially powerful headphone outputs or special headphone amplifiers. The DT stands for quality "Made in Germany". We only use the best quality parts for these over-ears, which we hand craft in Germany with great care and attention to detail. Many of the parts can also be exchanged and replaced, so you are guaranteed a product that will endure into the future.
