But I may have come up with a "method" for "ressurecting" dead batteries. I have brought back the battery in my ipaq twice now. The first time I had someone at batteries plus tell me to chunk it because it was completely discharged and useless. I started out putting it on the charger for a day or so the whole thing took 3 days but I think it can be done quicker if possible then it started to boot, but could not finish the boot sequence.
I kept trying and it began to light up like it was charging but not make it then I got it to actually boot and then open the settings only to go dead. I Finally booted it with out the battery after the internal battery was fully charged And inserted the battery after the boot and it finally began taking a charge and charged right up.
Here is my suggestion on a procedure now take in mind this is after the fact of what I did listed above, and literally countless failed semi boot sequences. I suspect that the internal battery has to be charged and it has to be running of of ac power then you can open the battery cover and insert the battery.
If your unit has a battery cover switch you may have to tape it down and fool the unit into thinking the cover is closed , but I just tried it again and it turns off and when you stick the batt in it starts charging.
I feel a bit foolish for not realizing you could run off of ac, until now ,because it might have saved me at least a day on this, but at least I got it working. And yes I probably will end up ordering a battery, but it seems to hold a charge well so far.
My problem is something seems to cause it to completely discharge, be it the case or another program, otherwise it has worked well. On a separate note [for a mod if they read this ]is there a possibility for a separate sub forum for WM ?
